I thought the purpose of the hood was to protect your broadheads and possibly your hands ad other equipment. Why is the foam so thick that the blades are well below the hood?

You can mold that sucker anyway you want and burry your blades if you wish. Best way is to torch a metal object that is the same shape that you want your imprint to be in foam. When it's hot push it into the foam and you will have a nice bed ready for your broadheads.

Good idea MilDotMaster, never thought of that. Mike, maybe I am different or have been doing it wrong all these years but, I've always had my broadheads thrust into the foam much deeper than your picture shows. I have to replace the quiver insert each year, but that is no problem. Inserts are cheap.

Well, the foam will dull the crap out of your heads by pushing them in and removing them from the foam a lot. Also, the Crimson Raptors on the right have mechanical blades and can't be pushed in any further.
