Default Projected Arrow Velocity?

Well, here is the info. I am shooting a Hoyt Trykon, 29" draw length, 49 lbs. Pretty soon, I am looking to bump my poundage up to 55-60 lbs.

My question is, if I am shooting a 28" 5575 Gold Tip Expedition Hunter with a 100 grain field point (arrow weight is approximately 380.6 grains) @ 232 f.p.s. now, what can I expect for speeds after I bump up my poundage?

Are their any calculations you can do, or is it just a "being around archery enough" type response?

at 60 lbs you should be right around 268 ft per second with that arrow provided you have zephyr cam .5 /xt500 limbs.

Yes there are calculations. I get 245.8 ft/sec at 55# and 256.7 ft/sec at 60#. This is an "all things being equal" calculation. That is, the only variable changed from your original conditions is the peak weight. I calculate you would need 65.41# to achieve268 ft/sec.

you will gain about 2 fps for every 1 poundage increase...so if you set your bow up to 60# you will be at approx 252 fps
