Default Which limbsavers are the best?

I was looking through my new issues of both Cabela's and Bass Pro archery catalogs recently, and noticed that Sims now offers some "ultra" limbsavers with some pie-shaped pieces missing... at a higher cost, of course. That's great; less material, higher cost!

Has anyone seen any studies or have any first-hand experience with them? Are they really better? Any thoughts?

You mean no one on here has used the new ones and been able to tell a difference over the old ones?

Me neither, nothing to drastic. The differneces can only be seen is scientific testing. I don't think the human ear is a good enough judge of sound to tell the differnece.

I use the ultra (pie shaped piece missing) ones. Ive never used any others but my bow is pretty quiet. I got them for about $15.00 from Dicks. They had the wrong price tagged on them and I jumped all over them. I think they go for like 30 bucks.

No,,$15.00 is about right, but if you got the split limb ones for 15.00,then YOU GOT A DEAL.

MQ1--the one difference I've noticed with the "Ultras"--(other than the $could be the durability.
In the past the first limb savers (circular) sometimes blew off the limbs andI've had some that even showed tearing at the base.
Since I've been using the Ultras--almost a year now--I've not had any of theproblems mentioned above(fingers crossed).
I'm unable to compareif there's anydifference for silencing the shot, but the Ultras does seem to handle 'vibration' a bit better than it's older version.
