gold tip arrows

when i originally configured my set up a few years ago, the chart at the shop rated the 5575's fine for my set up so that's what i've been using since. now i see the chart in cabela's for gold tips shows i should be using 7595's. what's the deal?? it seems to have been shooting fine all along. should i switch or not??

You don't mention the details on your set-up, making it impossible to give a good recommendation. Spine on 5575s become weak on most setups above 62-65 lbs draw weight.

Carbon arrows in general sem to shoot better if on the stiff side. That and the fact that cams have gotten more aggressive has led companies to revamp their charts accordingly.

If you're still shooting good, why worry about it? I use 5575's, pull set at 67#, from my legacy. My arrows are28.5" long, and they shoot great!

I'm right on the bubble between the 5575 or 7595 based on Gold Tip's sizing chart. I went with the 5575 XTs. My arrow length is 28.5" and I'm shooting 72lb. So far I've been happy with the results. My Muzzy and Slick Trick broadheads are grouping with my field points.

I am shooting about 65 lbs and switched this year to the 7595's. I do think they shoot better for me. I would say see if you can get a few and try them. Then just like picking a bow, go with whatever shoots better for you.

i went from the 7 grain / inch arrows to the 8.2 in gold tips and they just flew better!!! 70 lbs outback 28.5 inch arrow switched to traditional arrow still in 5575...

my bow is about 6 years old, Browning Prism 80 (split limb/single cam) 31" arrows, about 67#, and 100 grain 3 blade muzzys. i went by the chart at the shop, and when i figured it out, the arrow weight was fine for the draw weight etc., and the 100 grain muzzys have it balanced really well. they shoot very closely from field pts, to muzzy practice blades, to broadheads. and i've never had an arrow split or shatter except from the robin hood shots.
the newer cams and bow designs would be a very good reason for the change, that's a very good point. it's been a long time, but i'm thinking i was shooting about 240-250 ft/sec, but i could be wrong. i know it wasn't near the 300 ft mark.
maybe i'll try them out during the season break before rifle season and see what happens. i don't want to try to change things up right now if all is well.
thanks for the replies.
