To all responding: Thank you for your help. I was able to get some more info on those Easton Axis 340's. Pro shop says phooey, most broadheads will fit it and they have Illuminocks to fit them, something like 12.95 per 3 pack. I paid 65.00 per half dozen dipped and fletched with mini blazers and X nocks (white dip/fletch/nocks). Now, if only Icould afford that Switchback[&o]

Bigbulls, so is it necessary for me to purchase some adapters for my broadheads? Im not really sure what they will help with. Do you still use the washer supplied and an adapter? Im shooting the Axis 340's with slick tricks.

With the steel washers the skinny arrows may not make good contact. The adapter simply is a beveled ring that is the diameter of the shaft on one side and is the diameter of the broadhead on the oposite side to fully support the base of the broadhead head.

Yes you still use the steel washer as the adapters are aluminum and the blades would simply crush the aluminum.

If I were shooting the axis arrows i would use the adapter rings with my slick tricks. It just provides full contact with the steel washer to lock the broadhead in tight.

I'm using Axis 340 w/ 125gr SlickTricks with Easton 3-39 adapter rings (Axis rings were not yet available when I got them). The 3-39 rings work fine, but if you can find the Axis rings I would assume that they would be the best fit. Keystone has them listed in their catalog for 13.99.

I just bought a 1/2 doz Axis 400's to try (well, down to 5 now ...) They shoot fine, but my question is in reference to field points. I want to shoot 100 grain heads and the field points I have for previous carbons are slightly larger in diameter. My local pro shop only has the same size I have or larger. Do they make field points the same diameter as Axis, and if so, where do you get them?

Thanks.

There are luminoks available for the Axis & Super Slim. www.tracerarrow.com.

I've been told there is a field point sized at 17/64" that are the same diameter as the Axis and SS. I have yet to be able to find them though.

The field points that I have for the 340 Axis are 9/32 Easton parabolics. They fit well, but if you run your fingers from the shaft onto the field point you do feel a slightly raised edge. According to Easton's website, the 9/32 is supposedly the best fit for the 300 and 340, and 17/64 for the 400 and 500.
