When I went to my local club to order some arrows, they recommended ICS hunters for me.
They set me up with the ICS hunters shaft size 400. Now that I'm looking to buy some more arrows, I doubled checked the graph and noticed that I should be shooting the 500s.

Now I shoot very accurate with the 400s, I'm happy with the performance.
Knowing that 500s are little lighter(7.3 compared to 8.4 on the 400s), should I continue to shoot the 400s or make the change to the 500s. How much different would they fly, if any?

By the way my setup 58lbs @ 27inch draw!

Depends on whether you want more speed or not. I shoot similar specs (27", 53 to 60lbs) and have had excellent results with the 500's. In fact, I have shot them as high as 63#. All things being equal you should have a speed gain of about 10fps.

Don't be to hard on your shop. They may have over-spined you, but they left you room to jack the weight up on the bow. And with carbon arrows, if you err you should err on the side of stiff.

There is another way to gain quite a bit of speed. Try the Easton Litespeed 500's. Watch your speed go up about 20fps. But if you just want ICS's then the 500's should work just fine.

If you are shooting well dont change , stiff arrows have far less problems than weak arrows .

If so I'll probably continue to shoot the 400s for this year. Then maybe next year when I'm going to try a new brand, I'll go with the suggested size shaft of the manufacter!.
