Norton Security Software and the HNI BBS
There have been some questions as to wether or not a user needs to turn off their Norton Security software in order to post to the BBS. Since software and computer systems vary it is difficult to answer this definitivly but I will do my best.
You should not have to shut down your Internet Security software in order to post to the BBS. By making this site a "Trusted Site" or an "Allowed Site" you should be able to post in the BBS without having to disable your security software. To learn more about configuring your security software please visit these links below.
Norton Internet Security 2005
McAfee Internet Security Suite. This is a PDF and might take a few minutes to download for users on a dial-up connection.
HuntingNet.Com does not endorse either Norton or McAfee, these are just two of the most popular Internet Security packages that are available to home users.

RE: Norton Security Software and the HNI BBS
I have a "block pop-up ad" program that I have to disable to post in the forums, but have never had to disable Norton to post.
Took me forever to figure it out tho...

i have symantec,ad-aware and search and destroy softwares but the only problem i ever had posting was when i raised my security setting above MEDIUM.when i raised it to medium high,it would not let me post.i lowered it to medium and it was back to normal.
