So, do our mods get rid of a thread if it is becoming confrontational? If so, I think that is a GREAT idea... it can get pretty nasty with so many different opinions on things.
I just wondered, not doggin' it, I LIKE that idea...

The job of the Moderators on HuntingNet is ultimately to keep things from getting out of hand. Nobody wants to edit or delete a post but if that's what needs to be done then we take care of it. You're right, sometimes things do get a bit out of hand so our job is to try and keep those times to a bare minimum.
There is a fixed set of guidelines and rules for the forum that can be seen by clicking on the "rules" link in the menu at the top of the page. We will be revising them in the next several days in order to alleviate some of the gray area surrounding questions of confrontational/negative/condescending remarks. Up until now it has been at the discretion of the particular mod or admin who is there at the time. Moving forward there will be more of a determined line of what is acceptable and what is not.
I think that about covers it for now - thanks for joining the board and we hope you stick around for a long time! We're not all so bad here!
