If the mount means something to you, I'd take it to a professional. If you do it yourself or let a friend do it for fun, later on you'll most likely realize how bad it really looks. I know. I thought my first 2 turkey mounts looked good in school. Only to give them both away a few years later as I got better. Same with first deer and cat mounts.

Last note is that to do it for fun on weekends could be ok, but be sure he does super work. Personally if I'm mounting stuff on my off time for anyone but my best friend, it sure won't be cheap. Last thing I want to do is work all week at a real job and then make 5 bucks an hour(if you are lucky at that cost) on a weekend...... And cats are tough and get tougher esepecially when you have to start altering......
