Default How much?

What is a fair price to pay for a deer head mount (from shoulders up) ?

Thanks,
Jim

Try closer to $350 if you want a really good looking mount by a quality guy. If I had a nice trophybuck I would much rather spend the extra, after all over the next ten years it would only be $10 per year. I know guys who have gotten a "deal" or went the cheap route to save a couple dollars now only to regret it everytime they look at the wall.

I think $350 should be the absolute minimum, on upward of $500 if you want a good quality mount. Quality is more important than price, but if someone's doing mounts for less than $300, it's safe to say they're skimping on some things.

Minimum of $400. We pay $750 and it is worth it, it really shows.

Prices around here start at around $350 for a neck mount without the shoulders, and then on up from there.

I'm glad I still live in the south.if you want somthing special, lip turned or eyes rolled ,like the deer is mad or chasing a doe.these prices in the south will run $450.00 and up.
that is from a real good guy, doing fine work.the prices are like everything they are going up,but right now we have good people doing fine work for a fair price.
you guys north and south need to come south and meet some of our southern bell's,they do taxidermy work also.[8D][8D]

hopefully they want do like gas.

I paid $460 for a shoulder mount professionally tanned hide this year. I have seen many mounts since I first sent him away 6 months ago and now that I know what to look for there are A TON of poorly done mounts out there.........and of some great bucks too [:'(]

You get what you pay for.........make sure you know the guy (get recommendations) and see some of his work. Once you are happy he will do a great job then don't worry about the price because it will be worth it in the end.

5-10 years down the road your heart will either soar or break every time you see the mount on the wall..........you decide.
