Default How much should it cost?

I apologize if this has been asked and answered a thousand times but I'm at work and don't have time for an extensive search through the archives. I've never mounted anything and am wondering what to expect. What is "typical" of quality work in mounting say a boar head? Deer Head? Elk? I'm trying to factor that cost into the cost of a hunting trip I have coming up. I'm being optimistic that I'll bring home a trophy. :-)

I have not seen a deer head that i considered " quality " for under 300$, but typically the price for a good deer head in THIS area( central alabama ), is 400 $ give or take 50 bucks.

That's impossible to answer. Which is it? Deer? Elk? Where are you? What kind of quality are you looking for? My answer to the question as you have asked it is $250 - $2000

Fair enough, let me simplify. How much is "typical" for a good quality mount of a boars head in the bay area?

West Coast Taxidermy gets $850 for a standard boar shoulder mount. I pulled this pic off of their website. I assume this is close to what you're looking for.
