Default Whitetail Cape Needed

I put this in the Classified section and was advised to put in this forum.
I am looking for a cape for a buck that I just recovered and lost the cape. It was shot in NY and weighed 175-190lb. Looking for a cape w/ around a 19" neck or so.

Anything please PM me.

Thanks

175-190 dressed? Ur lookin at anywhere from a 21-24" neck by the sounds of it unless NY deer have skinny necks. Find a good taxidermist in your area you are taking it to and they most likely will have extra capes that you can get, usually cheaper than buying online as well since you are getting the mount done through them. If not go to taxidermy.net and they have alot of them for sale in the classifieds almost all the time, exspecially this time of year. Good luck. WCL

Thanks Wingchaser! I shot one last year there that was 210# and had a 22" neck.
This deer was big, but not that big. Another guy in camp took another nice 8 that was 190 dressed... The deer I shot was close to the same I thought, but never did get a weight...

You bet... Wow anything around here over 200 is a 24-25 for sure unless its nowhere near the rut. I'd go around a 23 if I were you unless you shot him much past the rut then the neck may have gone down a bit but if you go less than a 21 he is gonna look like a yearling body wise. He is obviously a 3 year old or older and looks like a bigger head and necked deer. It does depend on the rut swell though so its always up to the customer what they think their deer looked like origionally when killed. WCL

For reference......This is a 19 (early hair though so some volume is lost)

This is a 21

This is a 23 (unfinished)

This is a 21 we used on my deer last year... unless we are talking different measurements.. I believe it is the B measurement from McKenzie. This deer was 210#

Yeah that looks like a 21 at the base of the neck. Thats the 64U with offset shoulder though so makes the deer look bigger because it shows so much extra shoulder. The forms I showed you are all mckenzies also. All really depends how swelled up the deer was when you shot it. WCL
