Default Shed antler mount

Ok fellas, I've got a pair of antlers here I'd like to mount.

They're not exactly a shed, but a set that I had dropped andsplit... so Ijust removed the sections of skull from each antler.

I thought about making a skull base by covering a section of styrofoam craft ball with fiberglass, then running some screws through it, drilling holes in the antlers and screwing them on. This would be concealed under a skull cover. Of course I guess I could use a board instead of styrofoam.

Never done a mount at all, so give me your opinions of simplicity. I already have fiberglass resin to work with.

Check out McKenzie Taxidermy Supply. You can buy an artificial skull cap there with antler pedicals. They also sell a few different shed mounting systems.
