Default HAIR slippage

I HAD A DEER HIDE DONE WITH HAIR ON, WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP IT HAD SOME HAIR MISSING ALMOST LIKE A 10IN LINE ,DOES THIS HAPPEN OFTEN, IT WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF WHEN THE HIDE WAS REMOVED ,THE PLACE I HAD DO THE WORKSEND ALL THEIR HIDES OUT TO GET TANNED,AND ARE A WELLKNOW COMPANY,[&:]

There is never a guarantee on any tanning, reason is that the condition of the animal and what happened after the harvest will affect the tanning process. Most Taxidermist try there best to do what is necessary to return the best possible product back to the customer but there are things that we cannot control.

Sounds like something specific happened to that 10 inch section.
Could have been abraded on something or the pickle didn't reach there
because the hide floated up. Who knows at this point?
If it was folded in a bag for awhile before the tannery got it, heat and bacteria
could have resulted in that section. It's called rot.

livbucks,it was folded in a clear plastic and put in a walkin frezzer,that might have been the problemishot the deer last week in dec. i just thought it would be neat to have one doneup cause a friend of mine had one done the year before

Could have been something as simple as a cut from fighting, or barb wire fence. From your description, it almost sounds likely.
