One heck of a fine trophy you took. Any details of the hunt? I like to hear the stories more than anything. Bowkill?

No I cheated on this one and shot him with a 264 mag. I got hin in Freestone Country, TX. It is a place that we have been on for about 10 years. It has gotten better and better every year. I let 20+ bucks walk before I shot that one. I took him the friday after Thanksgiving. They were in the second rut and he was coming in to chase a doe. I had several nice 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 type bucks come in last year. A couple were already 16+ inches wide. The best one chased does in front of me for about 30 minutes one day. It was a great sight and the first time I had ever got to watch a buck that long. I am really looking forward to this year. I also added a second lease down near Harper, TX. It is loaded with deer and if I take one there it will probably be with a bow, but in Freestone it would probably take 10 years to get a bow shot at a mature buck and I ain't that patient.....LOL.

Nice looking deer. I never get tired of looking at big ol' bucks. I think he did a great job.
