deer feet

what is a good way to use deer feet to make gun racks or whatever so the hair does not fall off i have seen racks made before but over time the hair will fall out anything will help

you will have to skinn them out and preserve them and get the feet forms and put them on and sew the back slit .
you can order the feet forms and preserative from taxidermy supply co.they also have sheets to show how to do it.

I'm pretty sure they use Borax to pererve the skin on feet. Same on birds and other thin skin. Look up Vandyke's taxidermy Supply they have everything you need cheep. If you give them a billto name like you are a taxiderist they discount the cost, one of thier own reps told me that one.........

Use van Dykes instant preserve, wash the feet skin after you skinned them and pour denature alcohol all over then apply the instant preserve, i have racks that I mounted like that 30 years ago, they are still intact.

I don't recommend no other preservatives only van dykes instant preserve, wear a mask when applying it or you will be sneezing your brains out,lol
