Your Favorite 3-D target...
You guys probably already know mine... Whats your favorite?

RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I love gators and for some reason have a really good track record on them. Last year I only came across 2x of them, and put X's on both. The second one was a 47 yard gator sitting on a large rock......lots of arrows broken that day. [8D]

RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I guess I should like the velociraptor. I'm 2 up on two trips by that thing.
I, for some reason.....like javelinas and wolves. I actually DON'T like deer targets that much. They're usually hard to pick a good (reference) spot on. |

They're usually hard to pick a good (reference) spot on. My favorite was/is the elk. Something about it just keeps me on that mountain when I shot my bull and leading up to it I practiced on many, many of them. Second has to go to Pronghorn targets because they were always something different. Now most of my likes and dislikes were generated from ONLY McKenzie days, now there are so many..... |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I dunno as of yet - 1st 3-d in about 10 years Sunday
It aint the warthog, dont like the bears, cougars -- like the white MTN goat I dunno yet - but they are fun |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
My best target might be the Mt. Lion, or any deer.
My worst target has always been the little african Black Buck. No idea why. I see it and just go.........[:'(]Javelinas are a close 2nd. Another target that is tough is the walking brown bear McKenzie. It has a very small 10 ring in relation to it's size and not much definition to pick a spot. Same with the Russian Boar. |

My worst target has always been the little african Black Buck ask Jeff.... |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I kinda liked the earless calves they had at forsyth.

RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
ORIGINAL: Matt / PA My worst target has always been the little african Black Buck. The black buck is smaller than most deer targets, and throws your depth perception off every time. The turkey has those stinkin brown spots all over the 10 ring area, and because of that you can't really see where the 10 ring is, and you don't really know which brown spot to hold on, and that bobcat.......well it just sucks. I really don't like that target at all..........[8D] |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I can't really say I have a favorite target.... I don't really hate any of them either. I can however honestly say I have had some choice words after shooting the gobbling turkey on a few occasions though:D
I took this pic a few yeas ago to use as a background photo for my PC after a I ended a serious "X" drought on these buggers.... :(:D |

They are only 28" tall.Talk about throwing your depth perception off. ![]() No joke TFOX! I shot one of these this past Sunday. I had the yardage, 25yds on the money, and I was confident in it. I shot a stupid 5 on it and I HAD the yardage. I COULDN'T believe how small that stupid thing was once I got up to it. |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I hate these with a passion.
![]() ![]() I ALWAYS shoot this one farther back than I want. ![]() And these are USUALLY good to me ![]() ![]() |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I also hate these McKenzie bears.

RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
You might be shooting the boar too far back because the mckenzie is further back. The Rinehart is right in the crease.
And that damn little white goat can be sitting on top of the bears when the dynamite goes off.[:-] I shot that thing the other day and the whole time I was telling myself I LOVE THIS GOAT,I LOVE THIS GOAT.You know, the mind over matter thing.I got a 10.:D |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
That little goat thing is a lot smaller than it looks from a distance.
|
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
My favorite is probably any deer, excepta bedded down deer. I also like those big white mountain goats. I hate those little bears with an extreme passion[:@]

RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I haven't shot 3-d in some 15 years but when i did the place i shot at back in Oklahoma called Briar Creek, had a running deer, I think that was my favorite, it took so long to get to know how far in front of it to shoot.. I'll never try it on a live deer but was fun!!!

RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I'll have to take some pictures of the flying turkeys at our PA Spring Bowhunters Festival in April.
There are 2 spread wing turkey targets on an amusement park apparatus that spins them around pretty fast at about 15 yards. There is a big carpet backdrop if you miss.............they come buzzing by and you have to time when to shoot. LOL [:-] We spray paint an orange dot on the middle of the body and if you hit it you get your name in a drawing for a prize. I got pretty good hitting it with my longbow but it's a little tougher trying to time a back tension release with a compound. :D |
RE: Your Favorite 3-D target...
I kinda liked this one,atleast this day I did.:D
