There are several VERY good food brands out there. The top of the line though, is IVD limited ingredient diet...you can get this at basically any veterinary hospital. the reason that they have limited ingredients, is so your dog only gets the best nutrition availabel. this makes it easier to detect alergies, which can be deadly to dogs. There are many different flavors, and i mean different! from kangarro, to duck, and also venison. this is the most nutritionsl for you dog. now, there is also waltham. this is also a wide spread and available. please try either of these! they will make your pet VERY healthy, and live long!

I use the Kirkland Lamb and Rice or Chicken and Rice formulas. They are actually Diamond Professional Formula dog food and at $15 a bag is the best deal out there in my opinion.

It's a decent food -- The only thing is that the amount of Glucosamine that is in dog food is very minimal -- it's a marketing ploy. It might be better than nothing, but not by much.

Not near enough Protein or Fat for a hard working dog. For a dog that doesn't work hard, it should be alright.

I use dimond High protien, good for the high energy hard working dog. I use it all year around and it is what my vet recomends. the High protine comes in a green bag. Other than what was already talked about diomond also has other kinds as well. They have a regular dog food in a red bag less protine then the Green bag. they also have a maintines formula for the fat dog and a high pro. high fat formula in a black bag. I get it from Bomgars stores. my local fur shop also carries it and most of the guys I know us it. i buy it in 20lb bags at about $10 a bad. the 40lb bag is about $15-$17.

I have a Black Lab pup (5 mth old) that I have been feeding IAMS Large Dog Puppy food. She has been doing great on it but I am not closed minded. Sounds like several of you like the Diamond food. Who makes it? Is it available at stores or only at Vets?
