Default Training Bumpers- Soft plastic or rubber?

I have been looking at bumpers. What is better soft plastic or rubber (durabiltiy, what dogs prefer)? Will be training in the cold if that makes a difference.

I like the Lucky Dog bumpers, you can get some good prices on them at Lion Country Supply.

Like some of the others, I use canvas. It will hold scent longer and better than any of the other bumpers. I have also recently begun using the Dokken pheasant, quail and grouse trainers (just to see...) and the dogs really seem to like them. I work brits, though, and play retrieving only goes so far with them. Once they get bored with it, I just move on. And we haven't lost a bird in years.

I use both. Learned the hard way not to use canvas in the water though. They rot.

Me Too. All kinds - plastic, rubber, canvas, nylon, lots of different sizes as well. Different colors too, white, orange, black & white, etc etc.
