It might take a minute for them figure out your smell but they will remember you. Of course they might run immediately to you and go crazy. Either way they 'll take back to you.

Dogs have a remarkable memory. I raised my aunts dogs when they were young pups because she had to work long hours. She took them when they were 16wks. Then I didn't see them for about five years and when they saw me the nearly knocked me over they were so excited, and these were dogs that hate strangers(aussie mixes)! So yea, you're dogs will definitely remember you!

Sorry to hear of your parting. They may remember you. But, if your dogs are anthing like mine -- when they're out sniffing around they don't pay much attention to me. So don't be dissapointed if they ignore you.

sorry to hear you are losing part of your family.
my beagles are part of mine,I know you will miss them.atleast you will get to hunt them once in a while.
Yes they will remember you for a long time.

I had to give up my dog when he was 4 yrs old and saw him rarely from the time he was 4 to 8 but he remembered me and remembered the tricks and commands I taught him even though the new owner never practiced with him.

I feel your pain. I think you did the right thing.
