Question How do I get my dog started in the dog show stuff?

My dog is a small dog. he is a boston terrier. He knows almost all the tricks in the book. And he is really fast. I was watching the sporting dog shows the other day, and I know my dog can do that stuff! He would be so fast at going through the tunnels, and jumping over the hurdles. But how do I get him started in that? Do I have to make the course myself? If so, how?

Go to www.akc.org for answers to most of your questions. You do need the equipment which you can mostly make yourself, but it has to be made to specs. Look for a club near you that you can join and use their equipment. And if you are not physically fit, you might want to think about joining a gym. You have to run the course with the dog at the lower levels of agility, and some of the folks I know are on a treadmill to stay in shape. I once saw a 60 year old woman come out of the ring after her run and tip over with a heart attack.
