Default How Old Should a Beagle Be Before Hunting?

How old should a beagle pup be before hunting?
I have one 16 weeks old.
I know he should be older.
Just wondering when he should start.
Thank You.

If he's trained it wouldnt hurt for him to go with some other dogs to get some experience to make him a better dog.but at that age either way you can take him out there and let him hunt with some other dogs but not by hisself

Assuming he has been exposed to gunfire as a good thing,he is not to young. Take it easy. short hunts and he is learning the field!keep it happy and fun.
Been a lot of years but recall one lil pup in particular went every where i did first hunt.
I started most pups about 20 minutes for their early hunts. Tried to get them out often but mindfull of soft joints first year. Have fun !
Rat terrier in pic?.

The other dog is a mountain cur feist.
I have been taking him with me while I look for squirrels, and have shot a 22 short,
and it doesn't bother him.
I thought I would start out with something not to loud.
