Default nova scotia duck tolling retriever

anybody know anything about these dogs? I' m thinking of getting one for duck/pheasant hunting. Are they a good dog for this? Are they good family dogs? Thanks.

I have heard a little on this breed. It is amazing how they say the dog lures in the ducks! I have not heard of using them for pheasants yet.

if you are still interested, go to akc.org and look through the breeder referals, there are more breeders than I realized

I have done a lot of research for the last 3 years on the toller. I have found that they are tremendous retrievers and great personality family dogs. Getting one in the states is difficult and as I have learned probably should be to preserve the breed. I am seriously shopping for one and am in the process of breeder selection. I am waiting for an answer regarding their upland bird abilities in reference to their ability to " point" or are they " flushers" as soon as I near I' ll let you know. They sure are a pleasing looking pup and I understand that they have just recieved a limited status with AKC and are listed as a misc. breed. If you hear anything let me know. Good luck and Keep your feathers dry.
