You ask for an impossible answer as there is nothing to set forth except opinions, and you know what they are worth.
Most hounds will run a hot lion track, but that doesn't qualify them as "Lion dogs" that want cold trail a 2 day old track. Others want have a dog that will even mess with a day old track. They don't want their lion dogs starting something that may take 3 days to finish. Everyone has the "best dogs", RIGHT!! The good ones have people who know and have hunted with them, just waiting for a chance to throw down$5-6 thousand to get them. Decent, middle of the road lion dogs will likely bring $1,000-$3,000. A well started young dog 2-3 years old for around $1,500-$2,000 is the way to go. They will catch you some lions and will usually get better with experience.
Bobcat dogs are very rare, but again most hounds will try to run a bob, but few are successful, even on the easy ones. A man with a bobcat dog for sale is 1. nicknamed "Windy" for good reason. 2. He is in a very tough financial strait. 3 Has suffered some serious medical problems.
Again look for something started and buy him for whatever you are willing to pay. Stop on the way home and buy 3 new pair of good hunting boots. When you need new boots again, if the pup isn't a bobcat dog by then, cull and start again.
The old lion hunter, Willis Butholph is supposed to have said that you can never make a real lion dog when just hunting week ends. He will die of old age before he get the needed experience to become a true lion dog. JMO Good look in finding a dog.
