Just wondering what type of results anyone has had with frontline for ticks. The reason I' m asking is my dog got loaded up on ticks, about 15 or so. I took him to the vet and everything is cool. The dog received frontline. I have been hesitant about getting him back in the woods, for the fact that the dog is around the family. Any experiences? Thanks.

You should have excellent results with frontline. It is the best product there is for ticks. It works good on my dogs and we have excellent results with it at the clinic also.

I too have great results with Frontline. Just squeeze out the tube between the shoulder blades once a month and that' s it. I did see a tick crawling on him this spring but it wasn' t stuck in him and I can' t recall ever finding one that was yet...

I recently got my Springer about 6-7 weeks ago and he is one yr. old. We took him to the vet for his checkup and told her that he got ticks each and every time he went out. We asked about Frontline and she said it was a great product but suggested Advantix because she thought it worked better. We did take her advice and he has been using it now for about three weeks. I have not seen a tick on him in over two weeks. I know these products sometimes do not keep the ticks from getting on the dog, but it keeps them from " diggin' " in. I have heard good things about Frontline from some friends but my experiece with Advantix would make it hard for me not to recommend it.

That is great news. The people I was asking really don' t let their dogs in the woods, although I' m sure dogs can pick them up in the backyard just as easily. So be it. Back to the fields we go. I think I' ll just brush him down before he comes back in the house.

For two years, I have been using a combination of Advantage for fleas and Kiltix for ticks. As long as the medicines have been applied monthly, I have yet to find a flea or tick on my dog. I live in Maryland so the only months that I don' t apply it are January and February. In short, Kiltix works like a charm too.
