1 quart hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, couple squirts of liquid soap, and douche powder.

spounge on and let sit for a few minutes then rinse off.

This was on an episode of mythbusters, they tried several ways.

I have never done it though

This is what I have done in the past and has worked wonders. This is also what the emergency vet recommended to me.

Mix in a spray bottle,
1/2 bottle of hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 tablespoon of Dawn dish detergent
Fill the rest with water

Once mixed, spray the solution onto your dog, be careful not to spray in eyes, mouth, nose. Wash your dog with this solution like you normally would and rinse off. It takes 95-99% of the smell off the first time.

There's a product called skunk-off that works pretty well.

What flips2 said. This is what we use on our coon dogs and also recommend to clients at the vet clinic.

I have seen others use a product from Remington that removed the skunk smell.

I carry the supplies and have used what Flip2 has written. It works very very well. However you can not mix before hand. It needs to be mixed and then promptly used!

Everyone in my dog club uses liquid Downey Fabric Softener. Just soak the dog down in it and wait a few miunutes then rinse off. Works great.
