BHElkhunter, I am not trying to make you mad, or tell you what to do. But you really need to introduce a pup to water when it is warm outside and the water is warm.

Dogs are different just like people, I have a male pointer who will retrieveout of water right now when it is 10 or 20 degrees out. He is freezing his butt of after, but he will do it. I also have a female that even in warm water in the summer will avoid water likethe plague.

I looked into the Vizsla breed and a breeder close by wants 1000 bucks a pup..... They seem to be awsome dogs.
That sounds pretty reasonable for a good V. They can go higher... I spent more on Zoomie & would hvae been even more for a female.
