Virginia Code 18.2-119

ORIGINAL: brewman555

Bigg~BirddVA.....Google this....Virginia Code 18.2-119 see if this helps in anyway.

This section shall not be construed to affect in any way the provisions of §§ 18.2-132 through 18.2-136.
The RTR (18.2-136) law gives exemption from criminal prosecution. It does not exempt them from civil damages. Also the owner of the property in the case of leased hunt clubs is also libel. This includes lumber companies. That's how the land owner in SC got the hunt club to stop as well as all stoppin dog hunters on all other International Paper leased lands in the US. They stopped leasing to dog clubs.

This is all just the begining stages and process to get to a point it's under control. The VT survey has useful info as well as admission by SAC that the RTR needs some modification. It's not over by a long shot.

"under control"= ultimately banned. It might go easier for you if you would try to open your kool aid stand somewhere else besides a forum devoted to dog hunting:D

Might be better if you were in the same state as the topic.

Dog hunting
December 7, 2008
Let me see the pro-dog hunters now that the season is in full swing. I have over 50 pictures of hunting dogs unfed left in the woods for weeks, not cared for at all. One hunter who came to pick up his dog said if they are hungry they hunt better.
Pro football player Michael Vick is serving time in jail for just the same treatment of dogs or worse. Maybe these hunters need to be punished the same way.
Virginia needs to change dog-hunting laws. Other states have seen that it is good for the sport.
Maybe dog hunters then will learn how to hunt instead of running the deer down like a trapped victim.

Rick code 18.2-119 allows a person only to retrieve his dog on foot and without a weapon. those who practices it legally doesn't see the problem with the way it is written. It doesn't have loopholes as many claim it does. the ones who enter others land and say their looking for their dogs and carrying a gun and continuing the hunt are criminaly trespassingperiod.
