RE: Is this a good E-collar????
Broek is correct. Mike Lardy has some of the best methods on collar conditioning on tape. We also prefer his conditioned retrieve (force fetch).
I obedience train for competition too, we use clickers for postitive reinforcement. The nice thing about the e-collar is that it allows you to shape a behavior and then add distance. The Dobbs tapes are okay but I like Lardy's better. I belive I gave $175.00 for my Dogtra NCP 200 Gold last year. |
RE: Is this a good E-collar????
I used a set of innotek collars for one year, and they were a decentsystem for $200. I needed an expandable collar system so I bought a tritronics 4-collar system, and the only thing i can tell that is better is the collar's workingdistance. All of my deer-doghunting friends have tritronics, and they highly recommended them.

Innotec is so so. I've used them, Dogtra, Sport Dog, and Tritronics, and have a Tritronics now and would NEVER look back.

RE: Is this a good E-collar????
I'VE USED A DOGTRA FOR THREE YEARS W/O A PROBLEM. I THINK IT IS A PREMIUM E-COLLAR FOR A BUDGET. I WOULD BE CAUTIOUS BUYING AN E-COLLAR UNDER $300. YOU DEFINATELY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I ALSO LIKE THE SMALL SIMPLE CONTOLLER THE DOGTRA COMES WITH. GOOD LUCK.

RE: Is this a good E-collar????
ORIGINAL: pheasantfanatic I just got my first hunting dog, a chocolate lab, and was wondering which e-collar to get. What training program are you planning to follow with your new buddy? . |
