RE: Is this board dead or what?
Yes, this board is pretty dead and the information here can be pretty bad. I don't mean to be aloof, but after lurking here for over a year, I've found that very few folks here have a clue about dogs or upland game.
I can't say how good the information is regarding deer, turkey etc. since I don't hunt them.
My suggestion is that you try one of these 2 boards. They're not for the faint of heart, but they are active (specially shooting sportsman)!

FredH If you have been on the board for over a year and only posted 35 times what else have you done to improve the site? When you criticize what have you done to share your knowledge? the old saying is if you aren't part of the solution then you must be part of the problem.

RE: Is this board dead or what?
I'm relatively new to this forum, but I do know a fair amount about birddogs and upland bird hunting. I raise, breed, train and compete in walking field trials with FDSB English Setters and hunt all types of wild birds some 40-50 days per year. Sometimes more. Although I am by no means the expert, I've responded with what I consider to be thoughtful replies to several topics on this board and have never heard back from any of the original posters.
I'll keep trying, though, as long as someone needs some advice or some tips or takes the time to ask. While my opinion/advice may not always be the best, the purpose of a FORUM is for all discussion to be welcome and for the presentation of ideas. We can do with these what we will, and we will all be better for it.
