Hmmm....can't really say I like your comment about hurting him the most. Have you tried a dog pen or at least stake him on a chain yet??

RE: shock collar????????question
I dont want to have him in a pen all his life but I think he would learn after getting shocked hard a few times besides If he runs away again the neighbor says he'll kill him so i would rather shock him hard and teach him quick

RE: shock collar????????question
I know it's not preferable to pen your pets....do you have a work schedule and/or a place that permits you to run your dog on a regular basis? This will somewhat negate the fact that your dog has been in the pen all day. If your neighbor actually intends on shooting your dog, then you need to come up with a solution other than your current one......a shock collar might work temporarily, but when your dog realizes you're not around, he'll run off again. Also, your dog will quickly realize when that collar is not on his neck (i.e. when the batteries are being charged).

RE: shock collar????????question
I think you need to rethink what you plan to do. Dogs don't think the way we do. With dogs, it's all about association. A dog wearing a ecollar for the first time and gets shocked won't know why or how.
Personally, I feel everydog should be confined somewhat to either a yard, kennel, etc. A dog should not be let loose even in rural areas unsupervised. One solution, work out your differences with your neighbor. Another, look at underground containment systems. |
RE: shock collar????????question
Put it on yourself and figure it out whcih one hurts the worst. You may have 2nd thoughts then.
How about a fence, kennell or just chain him up. Take himout when you get home and let him run around under your supervision. |

You definitely don't know enough about ecollars for me to suggest that you even try to do such a thing. Ecollars are used to enforce an already known command -- and NOT to keep the dog at home. . |
RE: shock collar????????question
There is absolutely nothing wrong with keeping a dog in a kennel, as long as he has a clean house to go into, water, and gets let out and the end of the day for a run.
