A few Pics of my Irish
#21
I recieved some fairly good news today. I was talking with one
of the judges for Amercan Field today and he was interested in
seeing Rusty"s work. He stated the standard may say a 12:00
tail but any tail over 10:00 is a good tail. He wanted to see some
of my pics and what he has in him if he liked his pics. He said he would help me out so I could get him trialing if he liked what he saw.
He had seen a pup I sold last year and was quite interested in
seeing Rusty, as the pup looked alot different, and the owner
has hunted with a few different dogs and said never had he seen
a nose like these. So anyways I am hoping with this talking I can
get him going in the trails.

Phil, I am not sure if you have children and even if you don't I highly suggest a fewbooks from Jim Kjelgaard, his "Big Red" series. I read them over and over growing up and they definitely fueled my love of the outdoors. Irish Setters are the focal points of the stories.

Beautiful dog you have there. I hunt my Springer in NH and while she is really an awesome bird dog and family member, I do love those classy and stylish pointers!

Thanks Jay, I will check these out and I have 2 adopted children
here an 11 yr old and 13 yr old. My son has graduated and is
planning on going in the Air Force. Thank you also for the
compliment. I am trying to bring back some reconition on the old
stylish hunting dogs of yesterday and reconize that this has been
and is a long road to go.

That's great news Phil. I'm sure these dogs will make you proud. BTW, did u know in Europe a high tail is discouraged in Field trials there? They like dogs with 10 o'clock tails. My dog would be perfect :P. Then again, Llews are a throw back (or inbred depending upon your POV).

Thanks Mite, I know you had seen some good looking hunting
dogs and your compliment is greatly apprieciated. And no I did
not know that about the Europian trials and could be part of
the reason why my female carries a low tail. Llews and Gordons
are great looking dogs to that you do not see that many around
here anymore. Again Thanks for your compliment.
