Default Brutal day yesterday

I made the decision to do the right thing and put my old girl to sleep. We went for a last walk, took some pictures, and then took the long ride to the vet. I am so grateful you can do things that way, no fuss, no trauma. Buried her on a hill above my house with great views of the swan mountains, wrapped in my hunting coat, and two shells in the pocket.

Very sorry to hear about that. The coat and shells were very cool. I buried my Gunner at the intersection of Deer Hunter Road and Gun Dog Road on my ranch.I know how you feel. Best regards.

I cried like a baby the day I went through that. That was 20something years ago. I tried a couple of dogs since, but just couldn't get the feeling again. But last week, I grew up and got over loosing my Lab. We got a new, yellowbaby at our house and it's great! I can't wait to get back into training and hunting with him. I hope it doesn't take you as long to get over the pain as it did me - Life is too short, not to have a dog by your side. Jim

Sorry to hear about that. I know exactly how you feel. It's good that you had the opportunity to make a good decision as you did and an absolute class act how you buried her.

Cheers,

MT, sorry to hear about this. No matter how hard it is you allways know when it is time. Sounds like she will have a view for all times.

MT, sorry to here about this, remember the good times you shared with her and try to move on. Most of us have been through this and it is never easy to do. And treating her right as she has tried to do for you is the best you could of done. Good Luck with how you go from here.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Kinda weird how the house seems empty, even with the two other knuckleheads laying around.
