VA Hunters:
Merry Christmas!!!!
For the local Richmond, VA residents and others.... Have you seen today's (12/25/04) Richmond Times-Dispatch?!?!?!
http://www.timesdispatch.com/servlet...=1031779858537
It seems that our VDGIF officials took a $12,000 trip to Zimbabwe Africa on a big game hunt - and used department money for it!! (i.e. you paid for it, I paid for it, everyone paid for it!!!!!!) [:@][:@][:@][:@] It's all over the bottom of the front page and on page A-13 of the paper.
Nice.... very nice.... Merry freakin' Christmas VDGIF!!!!! [:@]

I hate to admit it, but I have reached the point where I am not surprised or even stirred when I read about wasteful spending. It's become so common place. At the same time, while I don't think you need to send someone over to zimbabwai for any freakin reason, I will hold judgement till all the facts are in.

First off, Merry Christmas fellow Virginia hunters. And on a sarcastic note, maybe they'll be bringing some kuku, eland or other African exotics back to the Old Dominion for some new and interesting hunting opportunities. While that's a bit disturbing to hear, one would hope there was some "higher purpose" to the journey with our money. Let's wait shortly and see.

....exactly! Maybe they went there on a fact finding mission. Yeah, that's right.... A fact finding mission! {dripping with sarcasm}....
Perhaps they wanted to study how a cheetah stalks and then runs down a thompson's gazelle. Or how a pack of lions can jump on a cape buffalo and take it down. Then when they go to use modern firearms, they could see the best round of .458 ammo to drop a cape buffalo versus using a .270 to drop a kudu. That way, if they decide to import some exotic species to the Old Dominion state, we will all know what to use.

As I'm driving down streets that haven't been plowed since we got 8 inches of snow 3 days ago, I wonder where those tax dollars are going. Hmmmmm.

What a freakin joke.I bet they get away with it,you know the good ole boy system. And this will all be swept under the bridge.I love the quote ( it's some disgrutled wardens and there ALLIES).I would love to know what it is in Africa that relates to Virginia? There is 49 other states in this country that they could go to to discuss poaching, and game managment issues.I also love the personal security force of game wardens to protect GUN HUNTING POLITICIANS against people who don't like hunting or guns.?.If they don't like guns what are they so worried about. The occasional egg being tossed at them. What a joke. This F"n kill's me and I am a state employee. Not with DGIF
