Default Virginia feral hogs

Since feral hogs are a nuisance species here in Virginia, I'd like to try my hand at one sometime in the off-season. I'll have my work cut out trying to secure private land to hunt on, but I need a nudge in the right direction. Where are some of the most sizable populations found in the state?

Will do. I'm going to talk to some hunting clubs and see what I can find out.

If you're looking to hunt hogs there are a bunch in Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and they have a lottery hunt every year. Also the barbours Hill Wildlife Management Area is in the same area and may hold some hogs.

Hope that gives you a place to start. By the way both places are in Virginia Beach

I think worth noting here. I've hunted the Back Bay Refuge. Once. In 4 hours, I counted over 60 (count 'em, 60) snakes. Bad ones too, cotton mouths and copperheads. If they had hogs tied to a tree down there, I wouldn't go back to get one. Just my 2 cents.

CAPT.BRAD and myself along with Taz saw a few hogs near my house but they were not the kind that you want to catch! I would like to get in on a hog hunt though.

Capt Brad. Uh Huh. We can talk trash here all day long but...You ever see that movie 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' when he was chasin all those snakes off. Ha Ha That's dang near what it felt like! I was in a ladder stand and had the snakes crawling up the ladder! ! ! Tough to shoot when you're trying to figure out how to climb the tree! Anyway, this has been fun. I'd be interested is you guys do find a good place to hog hunt. Keep you powder dry.

HighPower

LMAO!!!

Taz and I did see a few hogs while down at Swampdogs.
Taz even had one right in his lap but couldn't get the shot off.
I think he had the wrong gun in his hand or something.
