I was kinda waitin on that part...

But for the record, we already have 5 month of bowhunting and I bowhunt each month. Janurary and Feburary are great months to bowhunt because the deer are easy to pattern, find food and you will find the deer. However, by late Jan. most does are already bred and by mid Feb most (not all) bucks have lost their horns. So the delima is to shoot a doe that is carrying little one's or shoot a buck without his horns. I guess you could hunt for yearlings does and knotheads.

nitro your still a newbie to the sport get hardcore and you'll care....

mr4pt....Most does are bred by Nov.Trust me that aint any easier to harvest in Jan. or Feb than they are in Oct...Plus the argument of them being bred, Whats the difference in shooting one in Oct. vs Feb.? You are still taking out a producing deer.So it shouldnt matter when you take it...
BTW seen 8 bucks still with horns this weekend......

bogobble Done sent my e-mails.......

Hawgz, i hunt harder then you every thought about hunting i hunt everyday morning and evening so you do not tell me that im a newbie. i mainly stop because of bass touranments starting up. what does it matter if they close the season a little earlier. Hawgz if you cant kill a deer by jan. you dont need to be hunting i think you might want some lessons form this (newbie) that you say. [:@]

Well nitro23, if hawgz is who I think it is, you maybe barking up the wrong tree about hunting harder than he does. That is of course unless you don't have a job, but it would still be hard to hunt more than him. Now as far as those letters go, I wouldn't even bother. From what I understand, the commisioners have already made their minds up about a month ago. They were presented what the public had to say as well as what the biologists had to say and they didn't take either one of our advice (that's all hear say of course). But, I hope they do start closing it and the end of January. I think the deer have had enough pressure by that time of the year and they need to be left alone to prepare for antler growing and fawning. If you hadn't killed them by the end of Jan. you should have hunted more early or maybe you just weren't meant to kill them.
