Run dogs most of my life , run catahoulas now like the breed a lot. Do sella few but if i run them once cant let them go LOL ,run for hog and only thme i dont run them is turkey season here ,,,did very well on deer this year, i love a good race more than a kill, getten old i guess. I dont follow my dogs, we are a team , they find them and tell me where they are at, then we work together on bagging them.good hunting to all of you .

Hoghunter, several years ago I hunted with a fellow that had a pack of catahoulas/australian sheppards cross. Smartest hunting dogs I have ever been around and I deer dog hunted for over 30 years.

I do my most of my hunting on Ft. Stewart and they don't allow it there. I didn't go dog hunting this year but love it when I go. I did go hoghunting once this year and caught some small sows and released them.

Like Dep said, we can't run dogs here in Tx, but I always loved watching well trained dogs work. (birddogs) That being the case, you guys have fun and good hunting. You're not going to get flak from me for running deer. I've been blasted enough over on the DeerHunting board to come down what is legal in your area. I'm just a lazy slob hunter from Texas who feeds his deer year-round and hunts from a warm comfortable box blind inside private property and obeys the game laws of my state. Good Hunting.
************************************************** ************
Please don't misunderstand my statement regarding hunters attacking hunters. I really don't have any problem with whatever hunting methods are legal in whatever area that you live in, but I'm tired of people attacking another hunter who is following the law in their area. I hope that this clears any confusion that my little rant may have caused. Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes.

Tres. We have very thick brush and the dogs run them out for us.I have taken more deer in a stand or tree, dont know how it is in texas been there but never hunted. I run my dogs on hogs also and to me theres nothing like dogs running then bayed up. I respect the way you feel, I dont think there will be any misunderstanding , as long as its ok to run dogs in Mississippi i will do so ,if they stop it well looks like a nice box blind for me too LOL
