Does anyone out there have any notion or idea when the rut will kick in this year? Since we have not gotten really cold yet I am hoping that it will be close to the rifle season. Let me know what you guys have seen in the field or just what you are thinking.

I live near central Oklahoma and have already seen deer chasing does. The first deer I saw chasing a doe was last Friday, it was a little 6 point. Since then I have seen other bucks off the side of the road doing the same, they have all been little ones until today. As I was driving to my place to get in the stand, I saw a 135" 8 point running a doe around in a wheatfield. I think it is the early stages of the rut. By next weekend it should be kicking in pretty hard. That is good for us bowhunters, but bad for the firearm only hunters. Good luck everyone!!

I saw a buck chasing a doe the am about 11:30. If I' m not mistaken I saw the same buck on the tail of a doe at 5pm. Not a large buck but good one. Maybe 2 1/2 year old. Its just around the corner.

I' m in NorthEast Oklahoma about 35 minutes ENE of Tulsa. I' ve been seeing the rut activity picking up over the last few days. Just this past Sunday evening I witnessed a big buck making a scrape and showing his dominance with a snort wheeze. I believe it' s picking up and within the next week to week and a half I look for the rut to be in full swing. I' d be in the woods as much as possible from now through the end of the month. I think it' s the beginning of PRIME TIME.

Went out tonight and shot a 9 point, his neck was huge! Then the other day i rattled up a 6, and the place i hunt on the river is tore up with rubs and scrapes. I said the rut was going to be this weekend, its allready here! This is central Oklahoma though, i dont know what its like everywhere else. With the front coming through tomorrow, the deer really otta be movin.
Did anyone hear about the lady attacked by the 7 pointer?

I hunt around Weatherford and South of Hydro. Does anyone know anything about the deer activity around that area? I have not heard too much as of yet but if it is anything like the rest of the state than it must be near. I hope this will still leave us rifle hunter all right.
