sorry all my friends that hunted there passed away, but they did kill a LOT of bucks there over the yrs
I would suggest trying to contact the state game dept and ask them for tips on where to find lands to hunt, I'm sure they know of places with crop damage, over populations and , pretty lawns getting damaged and shrubs and such too!
I don't knbow how you folks like to hunt swamps , I do my best to stay out of them LOL
but we all like what we like
so good luck finding some place you enjoy hunting again, NC< has some good hunting, based on what my friends used to say about NC, and they drove pretty far to get there every yr!, so cannot be all bad !

Hey, I live in South Carolina, Spartanburg County (70-80 miles from you) and we hunt here. We have long gun seasons Oct 11 to Jan 1. Never hunted North Carolina, mainly hunt South Carolina and Georgia. I have seen some serious bucks harvested in SC. my We also love our duck, dove, and turkey hunting. I hunt mainly my private land with some public and my buddies club. Union, SC is loaded with hunting leases/clubs from timber companies. Those hunt clubs typically charge $600-$1200 a year with no limit on game, as long as you hunt legal. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Welcome to NC. I live smack dab in the middle of the state, however I'm not sure of places around Gaston County but best bet is to knock on some doors and start meeting people. If that doesn't work I personally would look into the gamelands that are scattered across NC.Great hunting to be had all across the state.
