Man.... Dissing on southern folks? Be careful! I always thought southerners were viewed kind of like a hornets nest: Don't mess with them, they won't mess with you.
I am a born/bred/raised upstate New Yorker. Now, I'm living in VA. My folks retired years ago and live down in GA/SC border near Lake Hartwell. I remember going down there for the first time. I didn't piss anyone off. I went down there to check it all out. I met a lot of people and everybody was friendly. I even had a side order of grits for breakfast at a restaurant. Southern people: Y'all are pretty cool! :) Butch |

When you here "dixie" being played, stand-up immediately and take your cap off(you will be wearing a cap, right) !!!
When they bring you your grits, don't poke at them with your fork. It's dead bang give away you ain't from around here. Always remember the "he just needed killin" defense works well here. LOL Edited by - big_g270 on 02/04/2002 11:04:07 |

RE: Visiting the south...... im worried.
The possion lemet on grits depends on what sized bag you get or how much you can eat at a restrant. there is no bag lemet. they are small so no real trophey hunting. oh and if you do eat them dont dont and suggar to them that is a dead "DY" give away. and "quick-grits" "kind of like instant otemeal" ant real grits. grits normaly are in the company of eges "fried or scrambled" biscuts or cornbread and baccon, fatback or whitemeat and gravey

Nascar, grits are this little white thing that grows on trees in the south. The best ones are fresh off the tree!
Heres what you do; Get one king size bed sheet, and you walk through the woodsat night and you'll see 'em shining(can't see 'em during the day cause the husk is only open at nite!) Lay the sheet on the ground, and shake the tree. you'll have fresh grits! Boil them like you would rice, add a little salt pepper and butter(not margerine) AND ENJOY! |
