Anybody hear today on Georgia Public Radio the piece on one of the top dogs at the DNR wants to give a extra week to deer hunters? He said they wanted to move the start of deer season to Sept. 8 , to many deer and not enough hunters.
I hope this passes. I was glad that they made doe season every day this past year and increased the limit to eight last year. I've been hearing rumors about legalizing baiting but not anything from officials. Hey why not? It's hard to find a deer during the day after Thanksgiving where I hunt. Maybe some food stations would help keep them around or moving. I dont know, at least they're doing something to help out hunters.

Of course this only helps bow hunters. Which is good cause I started bow hunting last year. (No aint got one yet!) But what they need to do is extend the rifle season till Jan 31. Like South Carolina

It does get tough, and you hit the nail on the head when you said the day after Thanksgiving.
For the last 2 seasons I have shot my last deer on Thanksgiving day, and that was it for the season. Pressured areas with many hunters cause this.
