Default Looking for someone to shoot me a deer

Maybe I gonna get yelled at for this post, but I wanted to give it a try anyway...

I am not a hunter but I am looking for a deer meat - searched all over the places with no success.
I was curious if I can ask someone to shoot a deer for me - I will pay the processing fee and even extra. I am in the Northern VA area.

I used to get whole deers from a local butcher store, but they stopped selling them.

Thanks in advance for any feedback or advices.

Ever thought about getting into hunting? Should give it a try.... I am not being a smart ass here. It is just a great thing to do understanding nature, figuring out you quarry, harvesting the animal, and actually cooking the animal you harvested. Plus if you have kids it is definitely a great thing for them to do.

Now to save you from getting yelled at. Try buying some venison online. If you average the cost of getting the animal or the hunter getting the animal, processing fees, and you probably will be cleaning just buy some venison online here are a few sites:

Brandon, thanks for the heads up. The problem with me becoming a hunter is that I cannot kill an animal other than fish :-) I can debone any animal though...

Buying venison meat by pound from these websites will be very pricy - I make a lot of sausages and jerky.

Why can't you? You can with a fish. Just asking. Try asking someone if you can go with them and just sit with them. No offense my girlfriend was the same way until I took her squirrel hunting and all she wants to do is go squirrel hunting and shoot squirrels. Now I am trying to work her up to deer. Trust me you don't think about the whole killing aspect. You are being provided this lovely animal that god creator to feed you family.
But yes it seems expense but take the time a hunter puts in, gas, the way he harvest the animal, gear, man hours and if will probably average about the same price. We just don't see it as easily as that because it is spread throughout the whole season.

I can't handle the killing part - nothing religious - just personal. Thanks for taking time and explaining all what is involved on your end.

My thinking was if one of you guys goes hunting for deer, instead of shooting one - you can shoot one more for me and I will pay you for that. I did not expect anyone to go hunting for me explicitly.

Do you guys have a limit how many you can shoot per season/year?

Some states have tags some don't. My state is two deer per day but you hardly ever shoot two deer per day. Our average deer weighs about 80lbs for a doe and 110-150lbs for a buck. I know down here we have what is called crop desperation hunts where farmers and whoever they invite get permits during the summer to shoot deer because of the damage to the crops. Generally we stop at around mid June to early July because that is when the does start dropping.. I know a lot of farmers that just donate the deer meat. I don't know how it is in VA but if they do it like that ask a farmer and they might just give you the meat. That is another alternative.

Are you aware that in many states including Virginia it is illegal to kill wild game and sell the meat or its parts? Just to let you know that your posts could be considered illegal as would anyone who lets you "pay" for them to get you some venison. What you buy online is usually farm raised.

To add, if any of the "paid for" meat crosses a state line, it is a violation of federal law. Best the OP gets his venison from a legal source that sells farm raised government inspected venison. He is willing to pay someone to shoot a deer for him but not willing to pay the cost of legal venison. I know it is Christmas and all but no good will come of this.

Wonder if there might be an ulterior motive for this posting? I would be very careful of a request like this.
