Had a buck chasing hot on a doe and grunting today around 5PM. First time I've seen that in a few years.

I went this morning, saw twenty or so deer. I think the cold had em up and moving. I also herd a grunting /chasing buck and some light sparring!

Lots of deer movement the last 4 days w/ these cooler temps.

I always try to be in the woods as much as possible from the last week of October through through the Thanksgiving week. I have had my best luck with mature bucks the first 3 weeks of November.

I am still watching bachelor groups behind the house in Suffolk. Saw one little 6pt yearling trying to dog a doe. She wouldn't have any of it. Does are still with fawns. Have seen a couple of disenfranchised button heads milling about alone.

A buddy has seen a bit of nosing around up in Sussex, and another heard a chase Saturday morning in Chesterfield. A slow rut start for certain.
