Sunday hunting bill sb 464

Um, no thanks...
I'll be happy traveling to upstate New York this coming season where I can hunt my sister & brother-in-law's farm - and on a Sunday too!
Good points - 125 acre farm in upstate NY
Free place to stay.
Free use of an ATV.
Private 125 acre farmland all to myself.
Deer are everywhere, same with Turkeys and resident Geese.
No deer hounds.
AND, HUNTING ON SUNDAYS!
Bad points - 125 acre farm in upstate NY
It's a long 10 - 10.5 hour drive up there from Virginia.
Horrible gas prices.

I truly believe we are close to being able to hunt on Sunday. We just have to keep working hard. With the backing of the NRA, VDGIF, NSSF, Lt. Governor Bolling, Atty. Gen Cuccinelli, and others it will eventually pass.....probably with some type of limits but it will happen.
Somehow, someway, the hunters in Virginia need to convince the ACNR - most especially "the infamous 4" (Ware, Edmunds, Wright, and Fariss), the VA Farm Bureau, the VaHDA, and a whole host of others that it should be declared unconstitutional within Virginia to not allow a person to hunt on their own land on a Sunday.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!
But then again, like I said in Bill Cochran's column (which also got referenced in the latest Deer & Deer Hunting magazine), I'm done.

So anyway guys... I'm sorry... I've had enough, and will not hunt in Virginia again until there is at least some form of Sunday hunting.

Can't blame you there. If I did not have land in VA I would probably hunt in North Carolina. I have hunting spots there closer than the ones I have in VA. It came closer this year then ever before and it took some underhanded politics to get it shut out this year.
