Arrow How is hunting in Northern LA?

Does anyone know how the hog and deer hunting is in Northern Louisiana? My buddy has some land in Colquitt. It's aboout 1.5 hours NE of Shreveport located right by the Kisatchie National Forest. Thank you for any help you can provide.

The link below shows where Colquitt is. It's almost on the border of LA & AR.

I am not to far from there myself. In general the deer hunting is ok. Not the biggest deer, but in places they are plentiful. Hogs are hit or miss. Some places have them and some are lucky enough not to.
I don't want to hijack your thread, but I happen to be looking for a new place to hunt myself. If he would consider allowing someone to lease it I would be interested.
