Default Central VA Black Friday rabbit hunt - PICS!!!

Yesterday we took the day off work and headed to Central VA to hunt roughly 4,000 acres of cutovers & planted Pines. We probably only covered 100 acres but had a blast. We hunted 7 hrs. in one cutover, the dogs jumped 7 rabbits and we were fortunate enough to harvest all 7. The spectacular running and 100% accountability made for a great day and dogs & hunters were beat as we had several races going NONSTOP for over an hour! Checks were few and far between with the experience and nose power we had on the ground and the dogs STROKED all day! Talk about a GREAT day w/ friends and dogs!

These dogs sound like a freightrain coming thru the woods. I had the best time, and shot alot of rabbits. I also used the most shells. A great day was had by all. This is a great pack of beagles. We did have a lone deer hound join us duing the day. He joined in right with the pack chaseing a rabbit. Deer dog gone bad. Thanks Steve and Rob.

It is some of the best hunting I have ever experienced. Jumping the rabbit or witnessing a sight chase, the sound of the chase, the anticipation for the rabbit, the exhilaration of hearing the shot or shots in my case, spending time with the kids, seeing and hearing the dogs work and the ringing of bells, hunting with friends and it would not be a rabbit hunt if you didn't take a briar right across the nose. I'm still digging for one in my thumb. It all makes for a great type of hunting. It doesn't hurt to have friends with great beagles.

looks nice, I'd love to get a piece of land that size for our small club to deer hunt in the Central VA area.

Looks like you guys had a good time. Always enjoyed hunting over my buddy's beagles up in PA, but it's been years.
