Same here... I drove out to the George Washington Nat'l Forest for opening day, and didn't see anything out there either. All the public land deer are 100% nocturnal anyway.

I'm leaving Virginia this coming Thursday, and heading up to upstate New York to my sister and brother-in-laws' 125 acre farm and going hunting up there instead. They are loaded with deer up there!

South New Jeresy is loaded too. Drove Route 40 awhile back and the fields looked as if they didn't allow hunting in that state. Hundreds of deer in the fields an hour before last light....
