I did pretty good there last year. Several bucks and a couple does. Early season was a wash. It was just too hot!

Hunting in S.C. is a little different than the colder climates. We don't have a definitive rut rather what we call a trickle. It starts in Sept. and lasts till late Nov. with some exceptions. I saw a ton of deer but they do not like a lot of 4 wheeler traffic. So many good hunting locations are ruined by atv's. We hunt 350 ac. and see a ton of deer, and yet our neighbors, who use a tv's alot do not. Think about it

I shot 5 in 2009 and my friend shot 19. He put on a lot of miles scouting and hunting. Lots of deer here. You just have to go after them.

The deer activity was slow for 2009 compared to 2008. Only seen one buck all season and it was during bow season when I seen him. Goodluck this fall!

Got one buck and some does. Just checked my trail cam got 3 smaller bucks coming in. Should start seeig the bigger ones soon. Richland County has tons of deer!

I had a good luck last year. I took one dandy 8 point, one 7 point in velvet (cull buck) , and passed on a ton of small bucks. Rut was on time IMHO. Halloween is where it peaked as always.

I took this 8 pointer on Oct. 25, 2009 in Chester County, SC. His gross green score was about 132. His official B&C score dry was about 121.
