Default Hunting in Central Florida?

Hey guys I am going to Florida Institute of Technology down in Melbourne, Fl. (about an hour south of Orlando). and have been looking for a place to hunt. I have already checked out Bull Creek WMA and the place has plenty of game on it, but the fact that I was almost shot during turkey season has me a bit concerned ( long story involving an inexperienced hunter glassing a field with his scoped rifle). So does anyone know of any possible private land nearby or who is familiar with the Bull Creek WMA who could give me some pointers on where to hunt to avoid the weekend (trigger happy) warriors?

There are a lot of good WMA's within short driving distance of you. Make sure you check out the FL DNR site soon and put in for any remaining quota hunt permits.

there is bullcreek which you already know of, three lakes, triple N ranch, Tosohatchee are some more.....
go to myfwc.com and take a look at them.
try to hunt during the week if possible, less people out there, that means less yahoos running around with mush for brains.
Everywhere you go, you'll get the yahoos, even on leases, there's always one seems like...just becareful. I try to hunt all of these places when I can...and I'm still here
these areas are quota hunt, so put in your permit apps. before the 30th or you'll be stuck at BC and 3 lakes after the quota hunts are hunted.

It's not only legal but it's challenging (try a head shot on a turkey with a .17) and it's safe. Pointing a weapon at anything other than a legal game animal that you've properly identified and decided to kill is unsafe. A scope on a rifle is an aiming tool, it'snot meant for nor is it safe to glass with. That's what binoculars are made for. Boy do I hate unsafe hunters.
