Joey--I have NEVER seen horseback riders or joggers while hunting private or public land during hunting season and I have been hunting in Virginia for 15 years. Where have we gone as a society? I mean really it is laughable.
I hunt several horse farms and have never heard any mention problems with hunting season, most riders are oblivious to it. I do know some who go toPhelps WMA to ride and have seen a few riders while grouse hunting in Rapidan WMA. I know what hunters pay to use the Nat. Forest, State Forestand WMAs. What about joggers and folk who ride horses there?

We haven't aligned ourself with no one. There was other organizations there to talk outagianst sunday hunting, but the biggest is the legislators who voted agianst it, all but one or two I believe. So your saying since we was in the same room and talking about the same subject we aligned ourselves with them. No that is inncorrect. HSUS is enemy number one to all hunting. As far as the dog retrieval bill, we would have supported it if it included stricter penalities for all trespassers and didn't single out just the hunting dog community. And no were not in favor of illegal hunting or trespassing. If you see either being committed call and report it.

Is there any group that will fight the Virginia dog hunting alliance? It is obvious this is a very arrogant, one-sided group, interested in their views only. Is there aorganized group to create Sunday Hunting? If not let's start one!!! I'm tired of the dog hunters wanting their way, or no way. I say let's boycott hunting licenses or some other form of hitting the VDGIFpockets. Who's interested in fighting these idiots? I will.

Name calling isn't a first step in working togeather. I suggest you act a little more mature.

Hokie--I agree. While I do not like to hunt with dogs, I have no problem with others doing so on their own land. We need to STICK TOGETHER or risk being a lost brotherhood of hunters in the future.

I agree with that and I don't think it's good idea to tiehunting with hounds to the SH issue, but that's what VHDA has done.

It will cost them support in the future.

Rem,

The horse people have major, major, major, $$$$$$$$. Their word is the gospel according to politicians. Next are the deer dog runners and VHDA, VDHA, etc... who are a "good ol' boy club" and have serious connections in high places. We Sunday hunting advocates don't have that kind of power, and we lose everytime. [&o]

Me personally? I'm quitting this coming season. Well, you know what I mean... I am NOT buying a license and going to sit out next season in protest.
